Thailand wants to be the world’s wellness capital. Who delivers?

Policy ambition is public. Measured results are harder to find. We read the numbers for people deciding where to live, travel and invest.

The market context
US$42.7bn

The size of Thailand’s wellness economy in 2024, according to the Global Wellness Institute: 24th largest in the world, but 7th fastest-growing.

That is a measure of demand, not proof that any one clinic or retreat works. Thailand is hosting the Global Wellness Summit and positioning genomics as a growth engine, yet The Nation reports it still has no integrated national longevity strategy. That gap is where our reporting sits.
